His major, in accordance with a love of reading from an early age, is English Literature. After graduation, however, Jasper does not have any specific plans, nor is a career in literature the goal. He is simply majoring in his favourite subject in order to gain a deeper understanding of and appreciation of literature in general. While he hopes to gain a career in writing in the process, Jasper also has no qualms about staying permanently at the diner due to his skills as an amateur chef, as well as the fact that his boss has taken him under her wing like a second mother. His ideal life in the future is a peaceful and predictable one in which stability is a guarantee; after being left alone to care and fend for himself so much during his youth, a stable job to ensure an income is his only real 'dream' once he graduates from university.
