Why people leave DarLink AI
Unlimited messages only on the $49.99 Ultimate plan
Essential ($12.99 a month) caps chat at 6,000 messages a month and Advanced ($27.99) at 9,000, about 200 and 300 a day over 30 days. Only Ultimate is unlimited, at $49.99 a month or $32.99 a month on the yearly plan ($395.88 up front). AI Peeps ($8.99), FantasyGF ($12.99) and Candy AI ($13.99) include unlimited text on their entry plans, and SpicyChat AI on its free plan.
Five videos a month on Essential, and no calls
An image costs 2 tokens and a video 20, so Essential's 100 monthly tokens cover 50 images or 5 videos; extra tokens cost about $0.08 to $0.10 each in packs, or $1.60 to $2.00 a clip. DarLink offers voice messages but no voice or video calls, and Video Generation is its lowest category score in our review (6.0/10).
Narrow refunds, and cancelling by written notice
DarLink refunds fraudulent charges, billing or technical errors on its side and subscriptions it ends without cause, but not accidental purchases, changes of mind or unused time. Its refund policy says a cancellation takes effect once support receives written notice; the Terms also mention cancelling in account settings. On October 24, 2026 darlink.ai had a 2.4/5 TrustScore from 12 Trustpilot reviews, and most low ratings described billing problems such as trouble cancelling or renewal charges. Candy AI puts a fixed refund condition and a cancel button in writing; Nomi AI's refunds are no wider, but you cancel in the app or in Apple's or Google's subscription settings.
Five free messages, then a paywall
A free account gets 5 messages in total, 3 images a day, 5 voice messages and one custom character. NSFW content, video and the Realistic V2 style need a paid plan; small token bonuses come from achievements, such as 5 for signing up.
No App Store or Google Play app
DarLink runs only in desktop and mobile browsers. The app called "DarLink" in both stores belongs to DarDoc Health Technologies, an unrelated healthcare company.
The 8 DarLink AI alternatives
FantasyGF: best for the closest match, without a message cap
FantasyGF is the like-for-like swap: a browser app where you design an uncensored AI girlfriend, at the same $12.99 a month as DarLink Essential and with the same 100 tokens a month. The difference is what you get around them. Texting is unlimited instead of capped at 6,000 messages, calls cost 8 tokens a minute (DarLink has none), and a five-second Flash video (480p, no sound) costs 6 tokens, so 100 tokens cover up to 16 clips instead of 5. The yearly plan is $69.99 against DarLink's $119.88, and the free plan allows 16 messages instead of 5. Our score: 8.6/10, with Video Generation at 8.5 (DarLink: 6.0).
What you give up:
Videos with sound cost 16 to 141 tokens, so the 16-clip figure is for silent 480p clips. The builder offers realistic or anime looks, not DarLink's furry, fantasy or cartoon styles; unlimited group chats need Ultra ($49.99 a month), with only a taste on Premium; it is web-only too; subscription refunds are possible only before the next billing period starts; and its privacy policy (March 2024) doesn't say whether chats train AI.
AI Peeps: best for cheaper unlimited chat and more clips per dollar
AI Peeps removes the message cap on every paid plan, starting with Peep Chat at $8.99 a month ($7.49 billed yearly): $4 less than DarLink Essential and $41 less than Ultimate, DarLink's only uncapped plan. Media is paid in PeepCoins at published rates, 10 per image and 40 for a five-second 480p video. AI Peeps' comparison pages list 1,700 coins a month with Peep Pal ($14.99), about 170 images or 42 such clips, against Essential's 50 images or 5 videos. Group chats come with every paid plan (on DarLink you need Advanced to create one), AI Peeps says its community has made 100,000+ characters, and the free plan has a daily message allowance that includes NSFW roleplay. Our score: 9.0/10.
What you give up:
It is browser-only, like DarLink. Plan coins reset each month instead of rolling over, a 15-second 1080p video costs 550 coins, refunds are decided case by case, and its wiki says a single developer builds and runs it (the operator, AI Peeps Lab, is an Italian sole trader).
SweetDream AI: best for live phone and video calls
DarLink sends voice messages but takes no calls. SweetDream AI's Premium adds live AI phone calls, in the browser or to your own number, plus live video calls and Live Cam with featured characters, and its Video Generation score is 9.5 to DarLink's 6.0. Each action has a published token price (image 8, video 80, voice message 3) and Premium includes 400 tokens a month. Free accounts get daily messages rather than a one-off 5, and its terms refund a payment in full if 10% or less of its tokens were used, where DarLink, outside fraud and its own errors, only considers requests made within 24 hours, at its discretion. Our score: 9.1/10.
What you give up:
Price: Premium was listed at $12.99 a week (about $56.29 a month), $79 for 3 months or $179 a year, against DarLink Essential's $12.99 a month or $119.88 a year. Its 400 tokens cover the same 5 videos as Essential's 100, video calls work only with featured characters rather than one you build, it is web-only, and the price you see may differ: SweetDream has used several price lists this year.
Kindroid: best for a phone app with NSFW roleplay and video calls
Kindroid puts adult roleplay in a real app: its iPhone app is rated 4.8 by about 10,000 App Store users and its Android app 4.4 across 26.4K Google Play reviews, with a web version too, and its moderation guidelines name NSFW content and erotic roleplay as allowed for adults. Subscribers get voice calls and live avatar video calls with the companion they wrote themselves. Its memory is documented in more detail than DarLink's basic, enhanced and living tiers: Cascaded Memory, editable Learned Context and journals recalled by keyphrase. Store subscriptions are cancelled in the phone's subscription settings. The plan costs $15.99 a month or $159.99 a year on the US App Store. Our score: 8.6/10.
What you give up:
Images score 7.5 against DarLink's 9.0, and avatars are Photoreal or Anime only. There is no ongoing free plan, only a one-time 50-message preview; refunds are generally not given and Kindroid may ban users who dispute charges, the Ultra memory add-on costs $28.99 a month extra, and a year costs $40.11 more than a year of DarLink Essential.
Nomi AI: best for a daily free plan in a phone app
Nomi AI covers two of DarLink's gaps. Without paying you get 50 messages and 2 images every day, no card required and no expiry, and the same account works in the iPhone, Android and web apps. Standard ($15.99 a month, or $99.99 a year, about $8.33 a month) lifts the message limit and adds voice messages and calls, group chats, 40 image requests a day and short video clips, which draw on those daily requests before any Nomi Credits. Nomi advertises its text chat as unfiltered, Mind Map 2.0 lets you see and edit what your Nomi has linked, and app-store subscriptions are cancelled in Apple's or Google's settings rather than by email. Our score: 8.5/10.
What you give up:
Nomi permits only clothed images on every plan, so explicit content stays in text, and DarLink's NSFW pictures are the main loss. Calls are voice-only, refunds are at Nomi's discretion, and its Image Generation score is 8.0 to DarLink's 9.0.
Candy AI: best for the cheapest paid year of unlimited chat
Candy AI has the cheapest paid year of unlimited text on this page: $47.88 ($3.99 a month) with 100 tokens a month, against $119.88 for a year of DarLink Essential with its 6,000-message cap, or $395.88 for uncapped Ultimate. Month to month it is $13.99 ($9.99 the first month). Its billing rules are tighter on paper: the Unsubscribe button sits under My Profile > Settings, a card payment can be refunded if you ask within 24 hours and have spent no more than 20 tokens, and residents of the EU and UK have 14 days to withdraw from a first purchase. Our score: 8.5/10.
What you give up:
Candy doesn't publish what an image or a clip costs in tokens (DarLink does: 2 and 20), its free account also stops at 5 messages, there is no store app, tokens left when a cancelled subscription ends expire, and its terms let EverAI train on your chats and pass messages to third-party AI providers.
Nastia AI: best for unlimited chat with a daily image allowance
Nastia AI's Unlimited plan ($15.99 a month, or $99.95 a year, about $8.33 a month) removes the message cap and adds 400 tokens a day plus 3,000 bonus tokens a month; Nastia puts the monthly bonus alone at about 300 pictures. A year costs $19.93 less than a year of DarLink Essential, which caps chat. Its Chat Quality score is 9.5 (DarLink: 9.0), it has group chats, and you can pause a subscription for up to 90 days instead of cancelling. Its rules ban content depicting real, identifiable people, public figures included, and chats and media stay private, with no public profiles or feeds. Our score: 8.5/10.
What you give up:
Purchases are non-refundable unless the law requires it or a technical error blocked delivery, there are no voice or video calls either, it is web-only, and there is no feed of other users' characters like DarLink's homepage.
SpicyChat AI: best for unlimited free NSFW chat
DarLink stops free accounts after 5 messages; SpicyChat AI's free plan lists no message limit and lets you create as many characters as you like. Adults can use NSFW roleplay under its written rules, although visitors from France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states must pass a third-party age check first. The library holds almost a million community-made characters by SpicyChat's count, and its Community score is 9.5 to DarLink's 7.0. The cheapest subscription, $5.95 a month or $60 a year, removes ads and adds a Memory Manager. Android users can sideload SpicyChat's own APK. Our score: 7.8/10.
What you give up:
You give up almost all media: SpicyChat generates no video and offers no calls, pictures in chat need the $19.95 True Supporter plan, and voice output needs the $29.95 I'm All In plan. The free tier carries ads and a 4K context, iPhone users get only the website, fees are non-refundable after your first login, and the terms say operators may read messages.
What DarLink AI still does better
More character types and art styles: female, male and futa characters in six styles, including Furry, Fantasy and Cartoon. None of the eight picks' reviews lists a furry or cartoon style.
Pictures: DarLink's Image Generation score (9.0) is above Kindroid (7.5), Nomi AI (8.0, clothed-only), Nastia AI (8.0) and SpicyChat AI (7.0), and at 2 tokens an image, Essential's allowance covers 50.
A lower month-to-month entry price than half the picks: Essential's $12.99 is below Candy AI ($13.99 after a $9.99 first month), Kindroid, Nomi AI and Nastia AI's Unlimited plan ($15.99 each) and SweetDream AI's weekly plan (about $56.29 a month). FantasyGF matches it; SpicyChat AI ($5.95, text only), AI Peeps ($8.99) and Nastia AI's Basic plan ($11.99) start lower.
Yearly plans can be paid in crypto, and those don't renew automatically, so there is no renewal charge to catch.
If you're leaving DarLink AI because…
| Reason | Try |
|---|---|
| Unlimited messages only on the $49.99 Ultimate plan | AI Peeps, FantasyGF, Candy AI, Nastia AI, Nomi AI, SpicyChat AI |
| Five videos a month on Essential, and no calls | FantasyGF, AI Peeps, SweetDream AI, Kindroid |
| Narrow refunds, and cancelling by written notice | Candy AI, Nomi AI |
| Five free messages, then a paywall | SpicyChat AI, Nomi AI, AI Peeps |
| No App Store or Google Play app | Kindroid, Nomi AI |
What chatting without a cap costs: DarLink against the picks
DarLink caps messages on its two cheaper plans. Its three plans, next to the picks that include unlimited text (prices as listed in our reviews; yearly figures are per month, then the amount paid up front):
| Plan | Messages | Media included each month | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DarLink Essential | 6,000 a month | 100 tokens: 50 images or 5 videos | $12.99 | $9.99 ($119.88) |
| DarLink Advanced | 9,000 a month | 300 tokens: 150 images or 15 videos | $27.99 | $18.99 ($227.88) |
| DarLink Ultimate | Unlimited | 500 tokens: 250 images or 25 videos | $49.99 | $32.99 ($395.88) |
| AI Peeps Peep Chat | Unlimited text | 300 PeepCoins: about 30 images or 7 five-second clips | $8.99 | $7.49 (about $89.88) |
| AI Peeps Peep Pal | Unlimited text | 1,700 PeepCoins: about 170 images or 42 five-second clips | $14.99 | Not listed in our review |
| FantasyGF Premium | Unlimited texting | 100 tokens: up to 50 pictures, 16 silent five-second videos or 12 call minutes | $12.99 | about $5.83 ($69.99) |
| Candy AI Premium | Unlimited text | 100 tokens; image and clip prices not published | $13.99 ($9.99 first month) | $3.99 ($47.88) |
| Nastia AI Unlimited | Unlimited | 400 tokens a day plus 3,000 a month (Nastia puts the 3,000 at about 300 pictures) | $15.99 | about $8.33 ($99.95) |
| Nomi AI Standard | Unlimited | 40 image requests a day, clothed only; videos use those requests, then credits | $15.99 | about $8.33 ($99.99) |
| SpicyChat AI Free | Unlimited (4K context, ads) | None; chat images start at True Supporter | $0 | $0 |
Two things to read into it. First, 6,000 messages is about 200 a day over 30 days, so if you chat less than that, Essential's cap may never bite and the comparison comes down to media and price. Second, DarLink's yearly toggle is labelled "SAVE 44%", but at its listed prices the yearly plans come out 23% (Essential), 32% (Advanced) and 34% (Ultimate) below monthly. On yearly billing, five picks cost less than a year of DarLink Essential and lift the message cap: Candy AI ($47.88), FantasyGF ($69.99), AI Peeps (about $89.88), Nastia AI ($99.95) and Nomi AI ($99.99).
DarLink doesn't publish how long its clips are, so a "video" here is not like-for-like across platforms: FantasyGF's 6-token clip is 480p without sound, and AI Peeps' 40-coin clip is five seconds at 480p.
Cancelling DarLink in writing before you switch
- Email the cancellation and keep the reply. DarLink's refund policy says a cancellation takes effect once customer support receives written notice, so write to [email protected] even if you also use the account-settings option its Terms mention. Access runs to the end of the paid period.
- Use your tokens first. Unused time and unused features are not refunded, and the Terms leave credit expiry to what is "communicated at purchase".
- Yearly crypto plans need no cancelling. They don't renew automatically. Card plans do, and show on statements as DARLINK AI.
- Ask support before disputing a charge. Outside fraud and DarLink's own errors, a refund is only considered within 24 hours of purchase with minimal use, at DarLink's discretion. If you file a chargeback, DarLink says it may give the payment processor your account records, including private messages.
- Delete the account last. Deletion is a separate, permanent step that rules out any refund. DarLink says it then removes personal data from active databases, though backups can persist for a time.
The full refund and cancellation rules, with sources, are in our DarLink AI review.
If the celebrity images are why you're leaving DarLink
DarLink's Terms describe "AI avatars inspired by public personalities", and on October 24, 2026 a category page on darlink.ai advertised AI-generated sexual images of real celebrities. If you want a platform whose written rules rule that out:
- Nastia AI bans content depicting real, identifiable people, public figures included.
- Kindroid bans intimate images of real, identifiable people even when AI-generated, and using a real person's name or likeness without permission.
- AI Peeps bans sexual deepfakes and "nudification" of real people, and keeps imported characters based on real people out of its public hub.
- Candy AI bans images resembling real people, non-consensual intimate imagery and deepfakes.
- SpicyChat AI bans bots of private individuals, real or realistic photos of real people, deepfakes and sexual content about identifiable people.
- FantasyGF bans deepfakes and impersonating real people and needs written consent to use a real person's photo, though an FAQ on its phone-calls page says "AI celebrity phone calls" are possible.
Off this list, OurDream AI's rules also ban real people, celebrity lookalikes included.
Other DarLink rivals, and why they aren't picks
- MyDreamCompanion (8.3/10) is a close format match, with Premium at $11.99 a month and 100 Dream Coins, but its default five-second clip costs 23 coins, about what DarLink charges (20), and it refunds subscriptions only for its own errors or technical faults. See DarLink AI vs MyDreamCompanion.
- Soulkyn (8.5/10) has unlimited messages from its first paid tier, but that tier costs €24.99 a month and video stays on a quota on every plan; its Video Generation score is 6.0, the same as DarLink's. See DarLink AI vs Soulkyn.
- OurDream AI (7.9/10) includes unlimited messages at $19.99 a month, but its 1,000 monthly DreamCoins buy about 50 seconds of video or 20 call minutes. See DarLink AI vs OurDream AI.
- Romantic AI (7.6/10) has iPhone and Android apps with adult chat behind an NSFW switch, but no video (Video Generation 3.0) and it doesn't publish what photos cost in Hearts. See DarLink AI vs Romantic AI.
- Joi AI (8.6/10) keeps its Premium and Neuron prices behind sign-up, so they can't be set against DarLink's published plans. We also exclude it because, when checked on October 24, 2026, joi.com's sitemap included image-generator pages with minor-referencing titles, contrary to Joi's own content rules. Our Joi AI review has the details.

DarLink AI alternatives: FAQ
What is the closest alternative to DarLink AI?
FantasyGF. Like DarLink, it is a browser app where you design an uncensored AI girlfriend, at $12.99 a month with 100 tokens. Unlike DarLink Essential, texting is unlimited, calls are available (8 tokens a minute) and a short silent video costs 6 tokens rather than 20. A year costs $69.99 against $119.88. Candy AI and MyDreamCompanion are the next closest.
Is there a free DarLink AI alternative?
Yes, several. DarLink's free account stops at 5 messages, with no NSFW or video. SpicyChat AI lists no message cap for free users, though the free tier shows ads and keeps a 4K context. Nomi AI allows 50 messages and 2 clothed images a day in its phone apps, with no card. AI Peeps gives a daily free allowance that covers NSFW roleplay, and FantasyGF's free plan allows 16 messages.
Which DarLink AI alternative is cheaper?
For chat without a cap, AI Peeps' Peep Chat costs $8.99 a month, against $49.99 for DarLink Ultimate, its only plan without a message limit. Billed yearly, Candy AI ($47.88) and FantasyGF ($69.99) both cost less than a year of DarLink Essential ($119.88) and include unlimited text plus 100 tokens a month. SpicyChat AI is free for text, with paid plans from $5.95.
Is Candy AI better than DarLink AI?
On our scores they are close: Candy AI 8.5/10, DarLink 8.4/10. Candy includes unlimited text on every paid plan and costs $47.88 for a year, where DarLink Essential caps you at 6,000 messages a month for $119.88 a year, and Candy's refund rule (within 24 hours, 20 tokens or fewer used, card payments) is a fixed condition, where DarLink's 24-hour window is at its discretion. DarLink publishes what media costs (2 tokens an image, 20 a video), which Candy does not, and its creator has more art styles. Both are web-only and both stop free users at 5 messages. Side by side: Candy AI vs DarLink AI.
Which DarLink AI alternative has voice or video calls?
DarLink offers voice messages but no calls. SweetDream AI's Premium includes live phone calls, plus live video calls with featured characters, paid in tokens. Kindroid subscribers can make voice calls and live avatar video calls with the companion they built, using audio credits. FantasyGF charges 8 tokens a minute for calls (4 on Ultra), and Nomi AI's Standard plan includes voice calls.
Which DarLink AI alternative has better memory?
DarLink sells memory in tiers (basic, enhanced, and "living" memory on Ultimate) but doesn't say how long any tier keeps details. Kindroid documents its layers: Cascaded Memory, editable Learned Context and journals recalled by keyphrase. Nomi AI's Mind Map 2.0 shows what your companion has linked and lets you edit it. FantasyGF states its window: the last 110 messages on Premium and 300 on Ultra.
Is DarLink AI safe, or should I switch?
DarLink is run by FameLink SA, an active company in Switzerland's commercial register (CHE-443.347.069), and Have I Been Pwned showed no DarLink breach when checked on October 24, 2026. Where it falls short is billing and data use: refunds are narrow, most low ratings among its 12 Trustpilot reviews (2.4/5) describe billing problems such as trouble cancelling or renewal charges, and its privacy policy says it might train its AI on anonymised conversations. Details are in our DarLink AI review.
