Overview

Promptchan is a platform built around designing an AI girlfriend: you generate her in pictures and short video clips, then talk to her in a companion chat. It markets itself as uncensored and no-filter, and its terms say it is a product of VisionAI Labs Limited, which gives a registered address in Dublin, Ireland, and that users must be 18 or older. A counter on the home page claims more than 11 million users.

Image creation happens on a Create page: you write a prompt, pick a style (realistic and anime among them, with fantasy and other looks in the community feed), and adjust poses, filters and sliders before generating. A Tweak tool edits one of your results from a short instruction (new outfit, background, pose or lighting), and the video tools either animate a still or make a clip straight from a text prompt, with optional AI sound and an Extend option to lengthen it. A community Explore feed lets you copy the prompt and settings of public creations with Clone.

The chat side offers ready-made companions of both genders, in realistic or anime looks, from a Discover feed, or characters you build yourself. You can switch between a texting-style Chat mode and a Story mode where you direct a scene, give a character a voice, place voice calls and generate an image of the current scene from inside the chat. Generations and most chat actions spend Gems, its in-app credits. The pricing page says plans cover web, iOS and Android, and there is a developer API for image, chat and video generation.

Watch out for

  • −Almost everything costs Gems. The guides put an image at roughly 1 Gem, with more for higher quality, and say chat messages cost a Gem or two once the starter messages run out. AI video requires the Pro plan as well as Gems.
  • −Anything made in public mode can be reused: the terms give the company a perpetual, irrevocable licence to it, and other users can make derivative works. Private generation depends on your plan and settings. Unpublished video clips are only kept for a day, so save any you want before then.
  • −Payment methods that renew automatically are labelled at checkout; crypto and G2A purchases run for a fixed period instead. The refund policy limits refunds to 30 days from a charge, requires you to cancel first and excludes accounts with significant use (though it says exceptions are possible), and crypto payments are never refunded.
  • −The site is uncensored and for adults only. Its terms ban content involving minors or high school settings, non-consensual deepfakes, and depictions of celebrities or private individuals without their consent. Its privacy policy does not mention chat conversations specifically and describes how long it keeps personal data only in general terms, giving set periods just for analytics data.
