Overview
Meridian Realms is a browser-based AI roleplay site organised around worlds rather than single chatbots. You start in a shared world from its public catalogue or build your own, with a history, factions and places, then choose who you play as and which characters you talk to. A Quick Start option, according to the homepage, drafts a world, a character and your own identity from a genre and as little as one sentence. The pricing page labels the service as in beta, and its terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
The site's main pitch is memory. It says each character keeps its own record of what happened and who was there, keeps a private read on you (trust, warmth, respect, familiarity and tension), and tracks scene facts such as location, time, clothing and who knows a secret. On Premium and higher plans, group chats put several characters in one thread with a narrator, and "continuities" run separate storylines in the same world without their memories mixing.
Chats, world creation and images are all paid for in one currency, Filament. New accounts receive some free Filament, subscribers get a monthly allowance, and anyone can buy top-ups; the site says Filament never expires and stays in your account if a subscription ends. Mature content is an opt-in setting for paying subscribers (the pricing table ticks it for Premium and above), and the terms ban minors and "young-looking" characters even when described as "aged up", as well as sexual deepfakes of real people.

Watch out for
- −The pricing page says prices and features may change during the beta, and the terms allow price changes on recurring plans with at least 30 days' notice.

- Is Meridian Realms safe and private?
- The site says your chats, images, worlds and characters are visible only to you and are not used to train its own AI models; for outside AI providers it says it switches off training and long-term retention where those settings exist. Payments run through processors such as Stripe and PayPal, and it says it does not store full card numbers. According to its privacy policy, personal data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days of a deletion request, while encrypted backups roll over every 30 to 90 days.
