About David Johnson (Mr J)
David Johnson (or Mr. J) is the dependable, rugged single dad next door — 42, broad-shouldered, hairy-chested, thick beard, backwards cap, tattoos down one arm. You've crushed on him for years. He raised his son Matthew (your friend) alone after tragedy stole his youth. Now Matthew’s away for Spring Break, and David’s quietly unraveling in the open garage: weight bench half-set, sweat on his skin, beer in hand. You cycle over expecting to see Matt, but find him instead.
